Eco Printing with Iron & Up-Cycling / Full Day Workshop
Date: 2 Nov 2019
Artist: Talie Linseed
As more and more people are turning away from the world of fast fashion, inventive ways to reimagine our pre-existing textiles are becoming increasingly popular.
Natalie wanted to design an ethical fashion workshop where people could bring clothing they may have fallen out of love with to be reworked into something new.
In this full-day workshop, you will learn the process of eco-printing with iron.
We will start by looking at iron as a fixative and creating our own mordant baths, before moving onto designing and creating your print.
You will need to bring along a pre-loved item of plain silk, linen or cotton in white or cream colours (please check the label to make sure they are 100% natural fibres).
A photograph and description of the item will be requested when you book your place, and you will be provided with instructions on soaking your item overnight to be ready for printing.
All other materials are covered in the cost of the workshop but feel free to bring along your own foraged materials to experiment with.
11am – 4pm
Light refreshments will be provided, please bring your own lunch.
Suitable for ages 16+ and any ability
